DANCE4HEROES at the Swindon Designer Outlet Village | (October 2011)
Mike’s latest event to help raise money for Help for Heroes was Dance4Heroes, a new annual event at the Swindon Designer Outlet Village… The idea has come from Mike’s want to involve the whole of Swindon to be able to join in raising money for our injured veterans that may not be able to run but would still want to do something…
The Swindon Designer Outlet played host again to another Beyond Impossible Charity Show organised by founders of Beyond Impossible Events, Mike Buss and Julian Hogan.
Dance4Heroes was their latest event which was in support of Help for Heroes and raised and amazing £1250. This amazing four day show put on performances from some of the best dance acts in Swindon.
We saw Jazz, Jive, Break Dancing, Urban, Salsa, Zumba, Street & Ballet, entertaining thousands of shoppers many of which came for the event especially. The show had special guests supporting the event from TaTum, Banxy and Aimee Applebee along with the great support from Miss Swindon and Miss Wiltshire.
On Saturday, the Outlet Village saw the biggest battle in Swindon for many years, the best of Swindons Street/Urban Dancers took to the stage to battle off in the Swindon Urban Dance Off Competition which saw the best female dancer, Britney Blackford AKA BGirlSwagger (TaTum School of Dance) and the best male was Ethan Callaghan (Kim Watt’s Academy of Dance) a dance student of Swindon’s very own Banxy.
We spoke to organiser, Mike Buss:
“Its taken three months of planning, with the last four weeks of not getting to bed till 2am, but its been so worth it! The kids have put on some of the best dancing Ive ever seen showing the youth of Swindon in an amazing positive light and the adult dance troops also showed some amazing performances to entertain everyone. The crowds were awesome! stopping to chat to the dancers and congratulating them and just gave a great vibe.”
Also at the Dance4Heroes event sponsored by UBISOFT, the Swindon Museum of Computing and John Lewis was the Just Dance 3 dance area providing non-stop entertainment with all ages including mums, dads and grandparents dancing away to Just Dance 3 on the Wii.
Mike Buss went on to say:
“This event has been awesome for many reasons, without the dancers the event would not have happened of course and the crowds totally made the event but its the background supporters and helpers that volunteer their time and then there is the event sponsors.
Petroleum provided the team with our funky gear, Callendar Club and The Cosmetic Shop provided prizes, John Lewis supported our Just Dance 3 dance area and our main event sponsors was designer watch company just launching in the UK called DEUCE Brand Watches and also Life Strength”
Then January we will see Mike and his team return to the Designer Outlet Village for fitSWINDON which is their kickstart to a healthy new year event. For more information to donate, or to offer your support contact Mike on activelifeuk@hotmail.com of find Mike Buss on Facebook.
