F1 star Mark Webber competes with young stars of motorsport on CardioWall Pro-X
Last weekend an elite group from the world of motorsport gathered at the Porsche Human Performance Centre (PHP) at Silverstone for the fifth annual ‘Get Race Fit’ event. We were delighted to be invited to have our brand new CardioWall Pro-Xput through its paces by drivers and riders from Formula 1, Porsche Carrera Cup, MotoGP, GP2, Formula Renault and Moto3.
But what made the weekend really memorable was F1 driver Mark Webber from Red Bull Racing who was acting as a mentor for the up-and-coming motorsport stars, some of whom flew in from the US, Australia and Europe for the event.
Mark was fully involved in each session, relaying his experiences with fitness and motivation – a nicer, more down to earth guy you couldn’t hope to meet – and the guys in the group responded really well to his genuine approach. In the end Pole Position was taken by Daniel Lloyd – Porsche Carrera Cup driver (http://www.daniellloydracing.com). Of course we wanted to know what the guys (and gals) thought about the Pro-X and we were thrilled to see that it provided the competitive centre of the whole weekend, with everyone taking part and striving to beat their rivals from other motor sport categories.
Reaction to the Pro-X was universally excellent – with Mark Webber saying “I’ve won twice around Monte Carlo but I still can’t beat that” and winner of the challenge Dan Lloyd saying “it was brilliant – really useful and demanding but fun”.
Our Pro-X takes the CardioWall concept and pushes it to the limit – its 14 lightpads and built in suspension damper system can be tuned to suit the user.
Soon to be powered by our new Hub3 data system, performance can be interrogated and trends analysed, a truly valuable tool for any elite athlete or weekend warrior. Or simply compete to get the highest score! For information about how to secure one of the first Pro-X’s all for yourself, give us a call on 01726 981123.
More about the event
Fitness and performance hydration expert Andy Blow and his team at PHP were running their annual ‘Get Race Fit’ training weekend for 15 of the country’s finest young drivers and riders. This elite band was joined by others who flew in especially from the US, Australia and Europe.
As well as Mark and Dan, other notable attendees included GP2 driver James Calado (widely tipped to be the next British F1 star), emerging MotoGP sensation Bradley Smith, Jack Harvey, the 2012 Formula 3 champion, and reigning CIK-FIA U18 World Karting Champion Jake Dennis.
A big thank you to Andy Blow for his invitation and help throughout the weekend and all the Sport Scientists and staff at PHP Silverstone.
