Mike Buss Joins Wiltshire College Army Prep Course for ‘Help for Heroes’
Mike Buss has been brought in to support and help with the Wiltshire College Army Preperation Course Charity Challenges in support of Help for Heroes and The Soldiering On Trust.
The 15 students at the Wiltshire College all have aspirations to join the British Army after their 17week Army Preperation Course which also gives them an NVQ Level 2 in Uniform Public Service.
The course is headed up by Course Tutor Sue Davis and Sgt Jim Bisatt of the Rifles Regiment which was formed after the merge of The Royal Green Jackets of which Mike was a member, the Light Infantry & The RGBW LI.
The students ate taking on 3 of the toughest challenges they could put themselves through and at such a young age will help give them good confidence in their chosen military career paths.
The first challenge starts at the college on 18th April put on by Mike… The students will have to take on a full day BOOTCAMP laid on by Mike which will involve log runs, casualty evacuations, command tasks and 6hrs of physical fitness punishment!
Then in May the students will be put through their paces by Mike and Sgt Bisatt on the SAS Pen Y Fan Speed March, this is nearly 6hrs of speed marching and running up and down the Pen Y Fan in the Brecon Beacons organised by XNRG, a race series company that organises some of the very best in Ultra Endurance Running Events in the UK. This is modelled on an actualt SAS Selection Challenge and goes over the exact same area on the Brecon Beacons, the stomping ground of the SAS.
Then finally in June the students will again be put through their paces by Mike & Sgt Bisatt over the Marine Commando Challenge, a 17km obsticle race that again is one of the selection challenges that every recruit must pass before becoming a fully fledged Royal Marine Commando.
