The Core-Gasmic Workout
Ladies, finding it hard to find an excuse to motivate you into the gym?
Well how about this to motivate you into the gym? Core-Gasms is what it has been dubbed. Core training has been around and talked about for a long time now but now many women are reporting greater orgasms just by working out their core and some even claim they have had an orgasm whilst working their core!
Being a guy, I admit openly understand that women have a lot more “stuff” to deal with than men. Child birth, periods, the whole female internal goings on- We guys have it far far easier!
A recent study at a US University however has tilted the scales back in the favour of women. The “coregasm” as it is known is an exercised educed orgasm that researchers have been studying and links certain exercises to women having orgasms at the gym or while working out!
The coregasm got it’s name because of the link of working out the core or abdominal muscles and women having orgasms. It’s not as new as you would think though, as looking into this further I found that a scientist called Alfred Kinsey and his colleagues first reported the phenomenon in 1953, saying that about 5 percent of women they had interviewed mentioned orgasm linked to physical exercise.
Debby Herbenick, co-director of the Center for Sexual Health Promotion at Indiana University says,“the findings add qualitative and quantitative data to a field that has been largely unstudied.”
The topic of the coregasm has been exploding all over the media again, recently in the Sun News Paper and other press and media all around the globe.
Herbenick used surveys online to collect her information, which included answers from 124 women who had experienced exercise-induced orgasms and 246 women who reported exercise-induced sexual pleasure. Most of the women, ages 18 to 63 and an average age of 30, were in a relationship or married and 69 percent said they were heterosexual.
45% of the women studied said their first coregasmic experience was linked to abdominal exercises, 19% linked to biking/spinning(which explains the popularity in spin class), 9.3% linked to climbing poles or ropes; 7% reported a connection with weight lifting, 7% from running. Yoga, swimming, elliptical machines, aerobics all triggered coregasms to women exercising.
The core-Gasm Workout:
Standing Clench
- Stand with legs astride with a football between your thighs and squeeze them together whilst clenching your Glutes (buttocks) at the same time as well as lifting your pelvic floor muscles.
- Do this for 1min with a rest of 30secs between reps. Do this 4times.
Closed Leg Squats:
- Using a tennis ball placed between your thighs, stand upright. Squeeze your thighs together and squat whilst leaning forward as you squat downwards. Repeat reps at a controlled speed for 1min, and with a 30sec rest between sets do 4 sets.
Reverse Crunch:
- Laying on your back with your legs in a crunch sit up position (knees and ankles together) and with your arms laying on the floor to each side. Lift your backside off the floor bringing your knees to your chest and lower (whilst repeating this exercise and imagine you need to go to the loo and hold on).
- Again repeat reps for 1min, rest for 30secs and complete 4 sets.
Hip Rotators:
- Lay on your back with legs straight up in the air with a football inbetween your thighs. Then let your legs lean over to one side squeezing the ball between your things, move legs back to the centre and then over to the other side – keep doing this for 1min with again 30secs rest and repeat for 4 sets.
