Yakitori Chicken
1kg Chicken Breast fillets
¼cup (60ml) mirin (a sweet rice wine)
½cup (125ml) light soy sauce
2cm piece of fresh ginger (10g) grated finely
2 cloves of garlic (crushed)
¼tsp of ground black pepper
1tblsp sugar
- Cut chicken into 2cm pieces.
- Combine chicken with remaining ingredients into a large bowl and stand for 10mins.
- Drain chicken over small bowl (reserve marinade).
- Thread chicken onto 12 skewers.
- Cook on heated grill or my favourite ‘The George Forman Grilling Machine’ or BBQ, turning and brushing the reserve marinade occasionally.
- Cook until brown all over.
